Google to possibly expand data center in The Dalles

PORTLAND — Google is eyeing 23 acres for a possible expansion of its data facility in The Dalles, Ore. An official with the company said Google is looking forward to the possibility of expanding its operations.

The Internet search engine firm built its first corporate data center in the Columbia River Gorge town in 2006. Its latest proposal indicates that the company could be planning an additional facility at the Port of The Dalles about a mile from its existing data center.
