The Portland Thorns will try to bolster their National Women’s Soccer League playoff hopes today when they visit the Western New York Flash for a 4 p.m. match.

This is the third mach in eight days for the Thorns, who have lost three consecutive games. The Thorns have gone 281 minutes without scoring and have been shut out six times in 13 games this season. Portland (3-6-4) is in eighth place in the nine-team league. Western New York (4-6-3) is in sixth place, two points ahead of the Thorns.
