EUGENE, Ore. — The case of a security worker charged with illegally frisking concertgoers at the McDonald Theatre in Eugene has been dismissed after the case’s investigator didn’t show up at trial.
The Register-Guard reports that Dustin Rowland says he was qualified to perform pat-downs as part of his duties when he was cited by Oregon Liquor Control Commission Inspector Joey McGlinchy. A judge dismissed the case Tuesday after McGlinchy failed to attend the trial.
McGlinchy ticketed Rowland and two other security workers after seeing them patting people down at an April 23 concert. Rowland said he had previously completed state-required training and had obtained a work permit allowing him to do so a day after being ticketed.
A supervisor paid $440 in court for fines imposed against the other two workers.
