I support both Jeanne Stewart for county council chair and Julie Olson for county councilor, District 2.
Stewart is independent-minded and quietly courageous. She is circumspect (thinking before speaking), and trusted by residents for responsiveness to their problems. Olson is energetic, well-educated (microbiology degree), and experienced in technical businesses. By consulting with county staff, Olson has already gained an expertise in land-use planning and other areas. Both are intelligent, direct and honest.
What I do not support is the acrimonious atmosphere, greatly encouraged by this newspaper, which only impedes our ability to recognize true issues on the port, school and county level.
