Suspected intoxicated driver crashed into tractor-trailer on SR 500

A suspected intoxicated driver crashed her vehicle into a tractor-trailer Wednesday morning on state Highway 500, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Amy Walling, 51, of Vancouver was driving a 2015 GMC Envoy west on the highway when she approached slowed traffic just east of Andresen Road, according to WSP.

A 2004 International Truck slowed for traffic, but the GMC crashed into the back of the rig, troopers said.

A passenger in the tractor-trailer, Kirk Hernandez, 26, of Larch Mountain was injured and taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, where he was treated and released.

Walling faces a charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants, according to WSP.
