Letter: Prevent fires by minimizing blasts

Watching the news and reading the newspaper, we all know of the dismal snowpack on mountains and forecasts calling for drier and warmer weather in the Pacific Northwest.

As human-caused fires can be prevented, it might be time to think of 4th of July fireworks. Those rockets red glare, bursting in air, might be your house or your neighbor’s or a nearby park. Maybe this year going to a fireworks display managed by a responsible organization can be the answer. Why take the risk? Let’s minimize the fire risk and at the same time support local organizations.
