Letter: Vote to move nation forward

The Columbian
Published: June 2, 2015, 12:00am

An interesting letter by Robert Kerr in the May 28 Columbian admonished me to “Vote smart in 2016.” I couldn’t agree more.

One group today has a plethora of presidential wannabes. What’s clear is that a vote for anyone from that herd will be a vote against blacks, Hispanics, LGBTs, taxing the rich, support for returning veterans, health care for all, science, education, clean air, the poor, Social Security, Medicare, unions, a woman’s right to choose and equal pay for women. It is a vote for expansion of military spending at the expense of all else.

So, yes, vote “smart” in 2016. Let’s move our nation out of the Dark Ages promises from these wannabes.
