Letter: Follow smoke to root of revenue

Seattle Times’ Danny Westneat’s June 7 column, “Legislative session looks like win for Republicans,” on the GOP Legislature, sounds like the typical Republicans’ pandering. Maybe he thinks it’s time to build up the GOP. They went into politics to get rich.

The column by Malcolm Berko in the Business section appropriately states, “Quantitative easing swelled banks, not economy.” The reason the tax coffers improved in Washington state is the taxpayers voted in legalized marijuana, not because the GOPers acted like orphan masters denying starving Oliver Twist more gruel. I hope Westneat doesn’t break his arm patting himself on the back. He makes it sound like they held firm on taxes. We had more revenue because we legalized marijuana so we can have “crazies” driving around high.
