A tractor-trailer rig sideswiped an embankment on Highway 14 near Cape Horn on Thursday afternoon, causing a traffic tie-up and reportedly minor injuries to the driver.

Renneth V. Sullenger, 55, of Hood River, Ore., was pulling a box trailer with a 1999 International tractor westbound on the highway when he failed to negotiate a left turn, ran off the roadway, and struck an embankment, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The accident occurred at 3:52 p.m. near Cape Horn, about 8 miles east of the Clark County line.

Sullenger was reported to have received some injuries but did not have to go to the hospital, according to the state patrol.

He will be cited for driving with his wheels off the roadway.
