A man was killed this evening when his motorcycle collided with a car in front of Evergreen High School in Vancouver, according to the Vancouver Police Department.

The crash was reported at 7:45 p.m. near the 14200 block of Northeast 18th Street. The collision occurred when an eastbound car turned left into Evergreen’s parking lot and a westbound motorcycle, which was traveling at a high rate of speed, struck the car, Vancouver police spokeswoman Kim Kapp said.

The man on the motorcycle died in the crash, Kapp said. The two occupants of the car did not appear injured, Kapp said.

Vancouver police are investigating the cause of the crash.

Kapp said more information about the incident likely will be released tomorrow.
