Vancouver native Tim Stanfill is among 50 players named to the USA Rugby training squad ahead of the 2015 Rugby World Cup, which begins in mid-September in England.

Stanfill, a 2007 Evergreen High School graduate, is one of nine players from the Seattle Saracens club among the 50 players on the training squad. A star at Central Washington University, Stanfill, 26, first played rugby with the Vancouver Sharks youth rugby team as a high school junior.

A wing player, Stanfill made his first appearance with the USA Eagles national team in its exhibition match on Nov. 1 against the New Zealand All Blacks in Chicago.
