TACOMA, Wash. (AP) — The last of four defendants in the 2010 home invasion robbery and killing of a man who advertised a ring on Craigslist has been sentenced to 97 years in prison for his role.

The News Tribune reports that earlier this year, 28-year-old Clabon Berniard was convicted of first-degree murder, first-degree robbery and related charges. Berniard was originally convicted in 2011 and sentenced, but the Washington state appeals court overturned the verdicts, citing judicial errors. His latest sentencing came Friday.

Berniard and three others – Kiyoshi Higashi, Joshua Reese and Amanda Knight – were charged with invading the Tacoma-area home of James Sanders and his wife, Charlene, beating the couple and terrorizing their two sons.

Higashi shot Sanders when he fought with the intruders. Higashi, Reese and Knight were previously convicted and are serving long prison sentences.
