Battle Ground — When Battle Ground Primary School fourth-graders hopped on their school bus to Olympia, there was an extra bus rider who knows the area pretty well: Sen. Ann Rivers, R-La Center. On June 15, Rivers and the students traveled to Olympia so the students could tour the Capitol. In a release from her office, Rivers said she tries to meet with local students whenever they go to Olympia for a tour. “When I met with teacher Sandy Montecucco earlier this year, she asked if I’d like to come along on her fourth-grade class’ field trip from start to finish,” Rivers said in the release. “I was thrilled to have the opportunity today to see our state government and Capitol building with fresh eyes.”
