The condition of a teenager injured Friday in a vehicle crash has improved.

Dominicc R. Edwards was initially listed in serious condition following the crash but was upgraded to satisfactory condition Monday at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center.

Edwards was a passenger in a 2005 Acura that was traveling south on St. Johns Boulevard toward state Highway 500, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The driver of the vehicle, Tyler D. Carlson, 21, of Washougal, was westbound on the onramp when he crashed the vehicle into a concrete barrier at about 9 p.m. Friday, according to WSP.

Two other passengers, Erika D. Doving, 19, of Vancouver, and Taylor A. Soule, 18, of Ridgefield, were taken to the hospital but have since been released.

Troopers said neither Doving nor Edwards was wearing a seat belt.

Carlson is facing vehicular assault charges in the crash. Investigators say that alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.
