A Vancouver man involved in Saturday’s five-car crash that killed a 7-year-old girl in North Portland was treated at a hospital and released.

The crash happened midafternoon in the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 near Victory Boulevard.

Those with the most serious injuries were driver Kari Bonds, 24, and one of her passengers, Arianna Lundin, 7, of Cathlamet, police said. Lundin died of her injuries Monday.

Investigators said a Chevrolet Suburban rear-ended Bonds’ Dodge Caliber, causing a chain-reaction crash with three other vehicles, including a Dodge Charger driven by the Vancouver man, Leron Richards, 31.

The driver of the Suburban was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol, police said.
