Student artists from six counties will be recognized at the 2015 Southwest Washington Regional High School Art Show, sponsored and hosted by Educational Service District 112.

The opening reception and presentation is 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. March 18 at 2500 N.E. 65th Ave. The gallery will open at 5 p.m. An awards program will begin at 6 p.m.

The artwork will be on display at ESD 112 through March 31.

The art show, now in its 42nd year, received 240 entries for this year’s exhibition. Eighteen pieces will receive regional awards and compete at the annual State Superintendent of Public Instruction Art Show in April in Olympia.

New this year, Central Washington University awarded four outstanding art pieces with CWU scholarships of $1,000 to $2,000.

Names of award-winning student artists will be printed in The Columbian’s Spotlight on Youth column in an upcoming Neighbors section.
