PORTLAND — Portland police say there was a gang-related shooting in front of the East Precinct police station late Saturday. No one was injured.

The shooting around 11:53 p.m. happened as a large party of teams was leaving the East Portland Community Center, which is across the street from the police station.

Officers inside the station say they could hear people pounding on the front doors and windows. Two officers went to the doors to see what was happening and when they opened them, they hear gunshots. A 17-year-old ran inside asking for help, saying he’s been shot at by someone.

Seconds later, the officers say a teen fired another shot, but not toward police. A 16-year-old has been arrested and taken to juvenile detention. Investigators believe the shooter and the intended victim were members of rival gangs.
