Informational workshop for potential school board candidates

Clark County — Southwest Washington residents interested in running for their local school board are encouraged to attend a Become a School Board Member workshop in April offered by the Washington State School Directors’ Association.

The free workshop is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. April 21 in the board room at the Kelso School District headquarters, 601 Crawford St., Kelso. It is one of 14 workshops offered throughout Washington this spring to encourage people to serve on their local school boards. The Kelso workshop is the only one in Southwest Washington.

Participants will learn about the roles and responsibilities of a school director and how to file to become a candidate.

May 15 is the final day for candidates to file for office.
