UPDATE: By 10 a.m. Clark Public Utilities had whittled the outages to only 15 customers.

ORIGINAL STORY:

About 240 customers were still without power this morning in the wake of Sunday’s windstorm.

According to Clark Public Utilities’ outage map, eight separate outages remained as of 7 a.m. Most of the customers are in the Battle Ground/Hockinson area. Another 60 were in the Vancouver and Cascade Park/Orchards areas.

Crews have been working since midday Sunday to restore power after winds measured in the vicinity of 50 mph across the county. At one point, an estimated 10,000 were without power.

The wind was preceded by more than an inch of rain.

Rainfall records fell across Western Washington on Sunday. It was the third wettest March day in Seattle history, according to the National Weather Service. A new daily record 2.2 inches, was set at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, and records were also set at Olympia and Bellingham, according to The Associated Press.

A mudslide has stopped passenger train service between Seattle and Everett today.
