LINCOLN, Calif. — Six middle-school children and a driver were trapped aboard a school bus for more than an hour after the bus crashed into a power pole along a rural Northern California roadway.
No one was injured during the crash that happened shortly after 4 p.m. Wednesday about 9 miles northeast of Lincoln.
Footage from a television helicopter showed power lines and a power pole partially on top of the bus.
A Pacific Gas & Electric Co. spokeswoman said the utility remotely cut power to the area, but students were kept on the bus until a crew could verify that the lines were dead.
