TACOMA — A replica of the Vietnam Memorial Wall is on its way to Tacoma.

The News Tribune reports that the replica, called The Wall That Heals, is scheduled to be on display this week in the Parkland area, east of McChord Air Field.

The Tacoma trucking company Interstate Distributor is sponsoring the wall replica at its headquarters Thursday to Saturday. It is a replica of the Vietnam Memorial Wall, adjacent to the National Mall in Washington, D.C. It displays the names of the more than 58,000 military service members who died in the Vietnam War.

Company spokesman Tonya Todd says volunteers will start setting it up on Wednesday. The company is one of several in the Truckload Carriers Association that hauls the traveling wall to sites around the country.
