The Clark College baseball team split is South Region opening doubleheader on Friday at Lane, losing the opener 1-0 and winning the second game 3-2 in Eugene.
It was a solid pitching day all around for the Penguins (8-10).
Though he took the loss in game 1, Union High grad Colton Krueger pitched a complete-game four-hitter with two strikeouts.
Clark had four hits. Sam Kosbab was 2 for 3.
In the second game, all the runs were scored in the sixth inning. Kosbab drove in the first Clark run, and Krueger drove in two with two outs.
Clark is scheduled to host Lane in a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. today at Kindsfather Field.
