Week 2 spring sports athlete of the week nominees

Nominees for high school winter athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending March 28. Voting will conclude at 8 p.m. Thursday with results published in Friday’s Columbian

RYAN GUNTHER, CAMAS BOYS TRACK AND FIELD, won both hurdle races at the Tiger Invitational. He also post the third-best time in the 110 hurdles in a meet vs. Union.

BRIDGET GUINEY, PRAIRIE SOFTBALL, went 7 for 10 with three doubles in three games, including wins over Mountain View and Skyview.

MAX HAUSER, RIDGEFIELD BOYS SOCCER, scored four goals in wins over Fort Vancouver and Woodland.

JACE MCKINNEY, COLUMBIA RIVER BASEBALL, went 4 for 4 with a double, home run, four runs and four RBI in wins over Ridgefield and Hockinson.

JAI’LYN MERRIWEATHER, UNION GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD, won the 400 meters at the Tiger Invitational in a state-best time of 56.82 seconds and also helps Union to two relay wins.
