Letter: Marriage debate illogical

The Columbian

If traditional marriage is a sacred institution handed down as God’s law from the Bible and “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion,” doesn’t it seem illogical that we are even having this debate? Are we establishing laws now based on nothing more than the argument of divine authority?
