Letter: Repeal multiplies debt for others

The Columbian

Whose interest was Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Camas, protecting when she voted in favor of House Resolution 1105, the Death Tax Repeal Act of 2015? This benefit for billionaires will add $269 billion to our national debt over the next 10 years, according to the Congressional Budget Office. That’s an additional burden to every citizen in the 3rd Congressional District.

Herrera Beutler decided to give money back to maybe a few voters in her district and ignored the larger federal debt the legislation creates for everyone else. Herrera Beutler is a fine person but she is losing sight of why she was elected to the Congress.

Please Jaime, vote to protect our future, not a few baby billionaires.
