Letter: Step into the shoes of a teacher

The Columbian
Published: May 4, 2015, 5:00pm

In the May 1, editorial “Students come first: Money at the heart of complaints behind possible one-day walkout by teachers,” comments like “copious vacation time” are like Marie Antoinette’s famous “Let them eat cake” when informed that the peasants had no bread. The editors of The Columbian could turn a one-day strike into a hundred-days strike with that insensitivity.

As a former teacher, I was highly offended. Unless you have been a teacher, you have absolutely, unequivocally, no idea how much teachers work.
