Spending by visitors to Clark County continued to rise in 2014, according to the recently released Washington State Travel Impact and Visitor Volume report.

The report, announced by the nonprofit Visit Vancouver USA, showed that visitors to the county spent $481 million in 2014, a 3.1 percent increase from 2013.

“We had a healthy year of growth that was buoyed in part by the addition of new lodging properties on the east side and robust occupancy rates at Vancouver’s hotels,” Kim Bennett, president and CEO of Visit Vancouver USA, said in a news release.

The Washington State Travel Impact and Visitor Volume report, conducted annually by Dean Runyan Associates, analyzes the economic impacts of travel at state, regional and local levels.
