Jemtegaard students take top three spots in Japanese Speech Contest

Washougal — Three Jemtegaard Middle School students were honored at the 27th annual Japanese Speech Contest, held April 18 in Portland.

The Jemtegaard students finished in the top three spots of Middle School Division 1, with Imagen Huey taking home first place, Brandon MacArthur finishing second and Monty Scott coming in third.

The contest is organized by the Consular Office of Japan for students studying Japanese in Oregon and Southwest Washington.

Twenty-two students from 10 schools participated.
