A Vancouver man was sentenced Friday in Clark County Superior Court to more than two years in prison for viewing pornography involving young girls.

Donald R. Knapp, 52, pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree possession of depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

Knapp had initially entered not-guilty pleas but agreed to change them in exchange for dismissal of some charges.

He originally faced 10 counts of possession of depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct and viewing depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

At his sentencing Friday, Knapp said he’s ready to take responsibility for his actions.

“I made a very regretful mistake, and I’m very sorry,” he said.

Judge Daniel Stahnke ordered Knapp to serve 26 months in prison, with 36 months of community custody following his release. He was given credit for some time served.
