Depin Inc., a Salem, Ore.-based manufacturer of an environmentally friendly alternative to wooden pallets and crates called EcorrCrate, is expanding into a 12,000-square-foot building at the Port of Kalama.

The lease is effective June 1. Depin will move its headquarters from Salem to Kalama within six months, the Port of Kalama said in a news release.

Depin manufactures EcorrCrate to meet a growing demand for easy-to-recycle, cost-effective crating. Its customers include Ingersoll Rand, Fred Meyer, Kroger, Costco and General Dynamics, the port said.

Depin plans to add 20 new employees in Kalama as it increases its distribution in the next three years.

The Kalama location is located near the company’s Seattle and Portland customer bases, the company said.
