EUGENE, Ore. — Eugene police have cited an 89-year-old woman for crashing into a bank building.

According to police, on Saturday just before noon Dorothy Schwarz tried to pull into a parking space in front of the Oregon Community Credit Union. But she pressed the accelerator and jumped the curb. Schwarz smashed into the bank’s glass foyer and drove into the lobby, where the car came to a stop.

The car’s bumper struck a woman who was leaving the bank, and she and one of her children were then sprayed by shattered glass. The woman and child were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

Schwarz was cited for reckless driving.
