PeaceHealth cuts executive job

Published:

PeaceHealth said Friday it has eliminated the position of CEO of the PeaceHealth Medical Group, a decision that means Dr. Howard Graman will leave the Catholic-affiliated nonprofit on June 13.

Chief Operating Officer Beth O’Brien made the announcement to the nonprofit’s staff, Tim Strickland, a spokesman for PeaceHealth, said in an email to The Columbian.

“As we prepare our ministry for our future in population health, it is inevitable that some restructuring of our leadership is occurring,” according to O’Brien’s announcement. O’Brien also said: “Howard has provided excellent executive and physician leadership for the medical group since he joined PeaceHealth in 2011. Under his direction, PeaceHealth Medical Group grew to more than 900 providers, enacted a new PHMG strategic plan, and helped to shape our system approach to ambulatory care so we will be positioned for success in the emerging world of pay for value.”

Headquartered in Vancouver, PeaceHealth operates a network of hospitals, medical clinics and laboratories in Washington, Oregon and Alaska.
