Discover your neighborhood winery during the Spring Release Wine Tour. Fourteen Clark County wineries will be showcasing newly aged wines, fit for summer, from noon to 6 p.m. today through Monday. Or pack a picnic and spend the day on the shores of Vancouver Lake, while teams race dragon boats during Paddle for Life. Novice, club and community teams will race each other on either 250- or 500-meter courses from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and Sunday. The Food and Film Series offers an environmental film screening and complimentary pizza every fourth Tuesday. This month’s screening will be “Gringo Trails,” a documentary that explores the impact of tourism around the world. Learn a bit about local history during your lunch break or an after-breakfast stroll. The annual Historical Walking Tours kick off May 29, as the Clark County Historical Museum takes participants on themed historic tours. Next weekend features the Teach One to Lead One 5K and 10K Walk/Run. The West Columbia Gorge Humane Society invites walkers, runners and their dogs for its seventh annual Hike on the Dike from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 30. Learn about “The Shire” and its ties to Northwest architect John Yeon in this month’s First Thursday Lecture. The fourth annual Run Like a Girl for Second Step Housing happens June 13, with participants taking on 10K and 5K routes, along with a kids run.
