Letter: Council is advocating division

The Columbian
Published: May 25, 2015, 5:00pm

County funds going to the Columbia River Economic Development Council are being threatened because CREDC supports the Mill Plain interchange project.

A May 21 story reported “Madore: Agency’s funding at risk; County councilor says economic development group has been lobbying.” County Councilor David Madore emailed CREDC saying (in part) “My appeal is for the CREDC to discontinue advocating for such controversial projects that divide our community.” You’re kidding.

Madore spent hours of public time and money on the “In God We Trust” motto that was obviously a very divisive topic. But he has the audacity to dictate to others to not be involved with a project that actually has a real impact on our community. Ah, the hypocrisy.
