The two bicyclists injured in a crash north of Lewisville Park on Wednesday evening were listed in satisfactory condition on Thursday.

Keith Kerbs, 42, of Vancouver and Larry Hiday, 42, of Battle Ground were both cycling west on Northeast 299th Street when an SUV, also traveling west, crashed into the cyclists near Northeast 128th Avenue, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office. The crash was reported at 5:13 p.m.

Both men were taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center with injuries described as significant, but both men were listed in satisfactory condition on Thursday.

The driver of the vehicle, 79-year-old William “Bill” Wilson of Battle Ground, told deputies that he couldn’t see the bicyclists because of sun glare, the sheriff’s office said. He remained at the scene of the crash and cooperated with investigators. Excessive speed and alcohol were ruled out as possible factors in the crash, the sheriff’s office said.

There have been no citations or arrests in the investigation, Sgt. Fred Nieman said. The traffic investigation, however, is continuing.
