Clark County — Three local charities that focus on vulnerable children won grants at a May 12 meeting of the Nonprofit Network Southwest Washington’s Giving Circle.

That’s a group of network members who take applications, study the issues and pool their donation funds for greatest effectiveness. Grants for 2015 are:

• Autism Empowerment: $2,050 to adapt an international youth program to be more sensory-sensitive.

• Bridge the Gap: $2,050 to provide normal childhood experiences for needy kids in foster care.

• Police Activities League: $4,441 to build positive relationships between police officers and youth through support of a summer camp.
