Sean Stutzman struck out a career-high seven and Justin Wall had a two-run home run to lead Dallas Baptist past Oregon State 7-1 on Sunday.

Dallas Baptist, the No. 1 seed in the Dallas regional, won two elimination games Sunday. The Patriots (45-14) beat Texas earlier in the day, while Oregon State (39-18-1) lost to Virginia Commonwealth hours before it was eliminated by Dallas Baptist.

The Patriots face VCU on Monday with a spot in the Super Regionals on the line. Dallas Baptist, which lost to the Rams on Friday, must beat them twice to advance.

Dallas Baptist backed Stutzman (8-1) early, scoring three runs in the first two innings and chasing former Clark College standout Travis Eckert (6-2) from the game after the second. Wall hit his home run in the eighth to cap the scoring.

• Heath Dwyer pitched 6⅓ strong innings and Vimael Machin had three hits and two RBI to lead VCU past Oregon State 5-1. The Rams (39-22), the only No. 4 seed to win its first two regional games this year, are a victory from their first appearance in the Super Regionals since the field was expanded to 64 teams in 1999.

Beavers starter Drew Rasmussen (7-4) left in the fifth inning after allowing three runs in the fourth.

Oregon eliminated by Iowa

Daniel Aaron Moriel broke a tie with a two-out single in the top of the 11th after a balk moved the eventual winning run to second base, and Iowa beat Oregon 2-1 in an NCAA regional elimination game in Springfield, Mo.

Moriel, the Iowa catcher, also threw out Oregon’s Scott Heineman trying to steal third base with one out in a 1-1 game in the seventh. Nick Hibbing (4-1) pitched the final three innings.

Oregon reliever Stephen Nogosek (6-3) took the loss.

The Ducks finished 38-25.

Super Regional spots secured

At Louisville 13, Michigan 4 — Corey Ray had three hits and three RBI, Nick Solak homered and Josh Rogers threw seven strong innings to lead the Cardinals over the Wolverines to win the Louisville Regional. Sutton Whiting, Zach Lucas and Logan Taylor added two hits each for the Cardinals (46-16), the No. 3 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament. Solak also had three RBI and Taylor two, while Whiting scored three runs.

At Florida 2, Florida Atlantic 1 — JJ Schwarz hit an RBI single in the sixth inning to lift the Gators over the Owls in the Gainesville Regional. Florida (47-16), the No. 4 national seed, advanced to the Super Regionals for the fifth time in eight seasons under coach Kevin O’Sullivan. The game was delayed 67 minutes at the start of the ninth because of lightning.

Arkansas 4, St. John’s 3 — Joe Serrano drove in the go-ahead run with a groundout in the ninth inning, and the Razorbacks held on to beat the Red Storm to win the Stillwater Regional. Arkansas (38-22) won its third game in a row to advance to the round of 16 for the first time since 2012.
