A Vancouver woman died and a Vancouver man faces a charge of vehicular homicide after a single-vehicle crash in Olympia on Monday afternoon.

Just before 2 p.m., the Washington State Patrol received nine 911 calls from motorists reporting that a southbound 2006 Dodge Ram pickup was driving erratically, Trooper Guy Gill said.

Before troopers could respond, the truck hit the jersey barrier on the right side of the road, crossed four lanes of traffic and then struck the jersey barrier on the left before coming to rest on the shoulder, Gill said.

Troopers determined that the driver, Antioco Esquivellopes, 50, of Vancouver was under the influence of drugs, Gill said.

The passenger in the vehicle, Roberta Walker, 92, of Vancouver, was rushed to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, where she later died, Gill said.

Esquivellopes was arrested and booked into the Thurston County Jail on suspicion of vehicular homicide and driving under the influence of intoxicants.
