EVERETT — Snohomish County health officials have voted to prohibit vaping and electronic cigarettes in public places.

KOMO-TV reports that health department officials voted unanimously for the ban on Tuesday, saying it will protect against the risks of secondhand exposure.

Under the new regulations, stores must be licensed, limit their seating and cannot sell vaping products to those under age 18. ‘No vaping’ signs will also be put in public places.

King, Pierce, Grant and Clark counties also ban e-cigarette smoking in public.
