Washougal — Torque Coffee has closed its outlet at the Washougal Town Center, but the town center’s owner says a new coffee shop will open at the same location in January.

Wes Hickey, owner of Washougal Town Center, said he could not disclose the name of the new coffee shop, or whether it was a national or local operator. Hickey said Torque’s owners had decided not to continue at the downtown Washougal location, 1700 Main St.

Torque continues to operate in Vancouver at 501 Columbia St. The company could not be reached for comment Wednesday.
