Vancouver — The Vancouver Fire Department and firefighters’ union will accept donated coats today through Dec. 19.

The firefighters are working with the 45th Columbia River Scouts and America’s Self Storage to collect and distribute the donated coats to local children through several charity groups, according to a news release.

“We are specifically seeking donations of warm winter coats in youth and teen sizes, but all sizes are appreciated,” said Vancouver Firefighter Ben Burtle, who is coordinating the drive, in the release.

Along with coats, the firefighters also are looking for donations of new, unopened hygiene products.

Donors can drop off goods at:

• Vancouver Fire Station 2, 400 E. 37th St.

• America’s Self Storage, 108 N.W. 139th St.
