Camas — A crossing guard at Dorothy Fox Elementary School in Camas saved a young boy Monday morning.
A woman wrote to the school district that she had watched as Don Holmes “literally snatched a small child out of the path of a car.”
“Without him there, this would have been a morning of tragedy rather than just another chilly Monday,” wrote Kimberly Koch-Hawk.
The child, 3 or 4 years old, had crossed the street ahead of his mother and turned back into traffic before Holmes grabbed him.
“Thought you needed to know you walk with a hero today,” Koch-Hawk wrote.
