Letter: Watching today’s politics is irksome

Politics in the United States is clearly shameful.

The Republicans have billionaire Donald Trump, who is using his own money attempting to buy the American working population’s votes to become president of our United States. The Democrats have Hillary Clinton, who boasts that she will raise $2.5 billion for her campaign by “buying” the votes of the working population to become president of our United States.

Where did she get this money?

If you can believe what you read, prior to her becoming secretary of state, the Clinton Foundation was broke or nearly broke. Now, this foundation has around $48 million.

Locally, Clark County joined this shameful style of politics when state Rep. Liz Pike, R-Camas, joined a write-in campaign to secure the Clark County Council chair position. County residents have clearly stated the need for a third Interstate bridge, yet Pike fails to support this need. Instead, she attempted to revise the Interstate 5 replacement bridge.

Shame on her.
