Salem, Ore. — A Salem woman said a man stole one of her 8 1/2 -week-old English bulldog puppies at gunpoint from inside her home.

KPTV-TV reported that Lori Andrews had arranged for some potential buyers to meet her litter of puppies Tuesday. Each dog costs about $2,000.

Andrews said a family with four young children spent an hour in her home playing with the puppies. The father said he wanted a male, because he had a male that died. She said the man teared up when talking about his deceased dog.

When the children chose a female puppy, they returned to the car with their mother. Andrews said the man then pointed a gun at her and said he was taking the puppy free of charge.
