A Portland man is in satisfactory condition after he reportedly crashed near Camas and was ejected from his vehicle Friday morning.

Dakota Berger, 21, was driving a 1987 Ford Ranger pickup west on state Highway 500 about 3 miles northwest of Camas just before 7 a.m. Friday, when he reportedly lost control of his vehicle, according to Washington State Patrol.

His pickup crossed the center lane into the eastbound lane and sideswiped a telephone pole, the state patrol reported.

Berger was ejected through the back window of the vehicle and taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center. He was released from the hospital by the afternoon.

Troopers say speed caused the crash and that Berger will face charges of second-degree negligent driving, driving with a suspended license and driving with no seat belt.
