Officers arrested two juveniles following a report from a neighbor of a burglary in progress at a La Center home Friday afternoon.

A neighbor in another house bordering a home on the 400 block of East Heritage Loop in La Center called 911 and reported seeing the two boys breaking through a window around 3 p.m., La Center Police Sgt. Chris Olsen said.

One of the juveniles was arrested as he exited the house. The second ran, prompting a search that included deploying a police dog.

Olsen said the second suspect was eventually tracked down at his home, then arrested.

Olsen said the two made off with various electronics, alcohol and other items, all of which were recovered.

Multiple officers — from La Center, Ridgefield, Vancouver and sheriff’s deputies — responded.

The two suspects were arrested on suspicion of residential burglary, theft and malicious mischief.
