Woodland — Woodland school board members have selected David L. Hahm Jr. as an interim board member.

Hahm will serve a two-year appointment representing District 5, and will be sworn in at the board’s regular meeting Oct. 12, according to a news release.

Hahm succeeds Jeremy Stuart, who resigned from the board in August. Hahm’s term will continue until the 2017 general election.

In a news release from the district, Hahm said he wanted to give back to the community following the warm welcome his family members received when they moved to Woodland three years ago.

“I want to serve the community and help maintain the solid learning environment Woodland Public Schools provides our students so our children will continue to receive a great, first-class education,” he said.

He has two children in the Woodland school system: a daughter in third grade and a son in sixth grade.

Hahn works as a representative for the Northwest Regional Council of Carpenters.

The news release also said Matt Donald, who represents District 4, was considering stepping down, but said Monday he decided to remain.
