Camas — More than 180 people packed the Union High School gym for the Union Idol singing competition and fundraiser.

The competition had eight contestants, who teamed up with instrumentalists, and were voted on by the public. Senior Noah Cole was named the winner, earning the chance to sing the national anthem at Union’s homecoming football game.

This was the first Union Idol fundraiser, and it brought in an estimated $700-plus for Open House Ministries in Vancouver.
