A Vancouver man who was airlifted to a hospital following a Monday morning crash on Interstate 5 near Woodland remained in serious condition Wednesday, according to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland

Maksim Les, 20, was driving a delivery truck north on Interstate 5 when his truck reportedly rear-ended another truck near the North Fork Lewis River Bridge, seriously injuring Les.

The crash pinned Les inside the trucks cab, and after emergency workers extracted him, a helicopter took him to the Portland hospital.

The other driver was hurt but not taken to a hospital, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The state patrol said following too close led to the crash, which was still under investigation Wednesday.
