A Vancouver man was arrested early Friday morning in connection with a case where a man was dropped off at a hospital Thursday with life-threatening stab wounds.

Law enforcement officials were called to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center at about 7:45 p.m. Thursday after a 39-year-old man who had sustained multiple life-threatening stab wounds was dropped off, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim’s name and condition were not released.

Witnesses at the hospital gave officers with the Vancouver Police Department a description of the vehicle involved in the drop-off, the sheriff’s office said.

Meanwhile, a 911 call came in about a possible assault, determined to be related to the stabbing, in the area of 102nd Avenue and Northeast 76th Street, the sheriff’s office said.

Deputy Phil Walker responded to the area and located a vehicle that matched the description at 8102 N.E. 103rd Court and detained the subjects in the car, the sheriff’s office reported.

Detectives arrested Michael A. Conley, 49, of Vancouver on suspicion of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, intimidating a witness and tampering with a witness. He was booked into the Clark County Jail early Friday morning.

Detectives from the sheriff’s office major crimes and tactical detective unit responded to the scene and executed a search warrant at the address, the sheriff’s office said.

Detectives did not release any more information about the case, saying that it was still an active investigation.
